Prader is a particularly popular family name in the Isarco Valley and Val di Funes.
The name has Romanesque origins and comes from the word ‘prado`, or ‘pratu` in Latin, which means ‘meadow’.
The Solerhof, a traditional farm, has been family-owned for many generations.
Written records can trace the farm back to the 16th century (Prader Michael Solerbauer), but it is believed that the farm has been owned by our family for much longer.
The Soler family was always a fairly large family and was sometimes also marked by difficult fates.
Timber trading was the main source of income on the Solerhof for a long time and guest accommodation was added around 1970, initially as a tavern
and later as a guest house from 1972 onwards.
In 2010, the current farmer, Thomas, took over the farm from his father and now he runs the farm together with his wife Katja.
In 2011, the new house was built, and since 2012, the new apartments have been rented out to visitors.
